The 4 hours course will cover aspects related to the potential sources of contamination during drilling, water flooding and workovers including optimal microbial sampling points and analyzation techniques for a comprehensive field audit plan. In this context the course will give an insight in the following topics:

  • How do microbes get into my operations and what damage can they do.
  • Microbial detection methods and selecting KPIs for monitoring.
  • Overview of European Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR)
  • Strengths and weaknesses of biocides and selecting the right biocide for your application.
  • Microbial control risk assessment and mitigation including case studies.
