Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is often highlighted as a key part of the solution for achieving climate targets. But what if CO2 is not just an emission that needs to be managed, but also a source of valuable chemicals and materials for the industries of the future?
In this webinar, researchers from SINTEF and NTNU shared insights from some of Norway’s most exciting projects in carbon capture and utilisation (CCU). The speakers discussed about experiences from ongoing CO2 capture projects and the role this technology can play in the green transition, including SINTEF’s research projects PYROCO2 and CO2Value, which explore how captured CO2 can be converted into sustainable industrial feedstocks.
These projects demonstrate how carbon can become part of new value chains and contribute to the development of products and materials with a lower climate footprint.
NTNU presented its research: "Fermentering av CO2 til eddiksyre: Er det økonomisk drivverdig?" This presentation was given in Norwegian.
This recording is relevant for anyone interested in gaining insight into the climate technologies of the future, the circular carbon economy, and the opportunities that arise when research, industry, and innovation come together.
