Wally Georgie, has over 40 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, namely in oil and gas operation, processing, separation, fluid handling and system integrity.

He specializes in Oil Water Separation, Produced Water Treatment and Management, Water Injection systems operation and treatment, Sand and Solid Management, Gas processing and treatment, Flow Assurance, Corrosion Engineering and Integrity, Sour production, all aspects of Production Chemistry Management, Operation Assurance process design review of both Green and Brown field developments.

Wally has an Ph.D. degree in Chemical Technology from Strathclyde University Glasgow Scotland (1977).

Henrik Bjartnes

Henrik Bjartnes has over 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and specializes in separation and produced water treatment technologies. During these years he has worked with technology development, research, studies, project deliveries, and operator support. Henrik has a MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Andrew Farrell

Andrew has worked on oilfield organic deposits for over 10 years.

He has designed several new testing methodologies and equipment to improve correlation between laboratory testing and field behaviour.

Andrew has authored a number of publications on asphaltenes, wax, naphthenates and mercury phase behaviour, and collaborates extensively across the industry to find solutions to production chemistry challenges.

Martin Krister Kvernland

Martin Kvernland holds a Master degree in Engineering Cybernetics from NTNU.

Martin brings 16 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, covering topside and subsea installations in addition to drilling technology.

Martin has current a role as flow assurance lead in Empig.

Stephan obtained his PhD degree in chemistry in 2003 before entering into catalysis research division of BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany). He later transferred to the oil and gas sector, heading the central laboratory of Wintershall. Positions as technology manager in Den Haag (Netherlands) and head of research and development (Germany) followed. Since 2016, he is working as the global advisor in production chemistry in Stavanger (Norway).

Renato Paula

Renato M De Paula has 15 years of experience in Microbiology and Biocide application in the Oil & Gas industry. He obtained his Master in Biochemistry and PhD in Biotechnology from Sao Paulo State University and conducted his postdoctoral research studies at Texas A&M University. He joined Nalco in 2011, where he managed the R&D Microbiology group. In 2021, he joined Solvay as Business Development Manager, promoting and optimizing the use of biocides for microbial control in Oil & Gas applications. Currently, he works as the Global Segment Director for Biocides at SNF, where he leads the commercial strategy and management of the biocide product line.

Matthew Snape

Matthew Snape holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Central Lancashire, specialising in industrial microbiology and oil spill remediation. He began his career in 2002 with Commercial Microbiology (now Intertek CAPCIS) in Aberdeen, supporting global operators with microbial monitoring, contamination control, and advanced surveillance techniques.

In 2006 he joined Champion Technologies (later ChampionX/SLB), spending 15 years as a key technical authority. As Regional Technical Manager for MENA and a Global Subject Matter Expert, he supported international assets with expertise in biocides, H₂S mitigation, reservoir souring, and microbial risk management, leading major chemical treatment program development and deployment.

He is now Senior Technical Commercial Manager – Global Oil & Gas at Vink Chemicals, driving new market growth, global technical strategy, customer engagement, and best-practice application of microbial control and souring solutions.

With nearly 25 years of experience, Matt is recognized as a global authority in oilfield microbiology, H₂S control, MIC, and production chemistry.

Selina is a Design and Technical Engineer in Production Chemicals at SLB, based in Bergen, Norway. She works with microbiology driven challenges across oil and gas production systems, with a focus on biocide application, microbial monitoring, and treatment optimization, supported by a PhD in Microbiology. Her work centers on integrating microbial monitoring data with operational parameters to improve biocide strategy design, reduce unnecessary chemical use, and enhance system reliability. Selina is actively involved in cross functional R&D initiatives, including projects addressing microbial risks in emerging energy systems and the development of more sustainable microbial control approaches.

Stefan Nicholson

Stefan joined the Corrosion team at Scaled Solutions as a Senior Scientist in 2024 after completing his Master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde. Since joining, he has worked extensively on LPR bubble and RCE testing for both field samples and inhibitor/chemical performance assays.

Stefan has played a key role in advancing galvanically coupled corrosion methods and under-deposit corrosion testing within the team. He recently completed his PhD in Chemistry, also at the University of Strathclyde, further strengthening his technical expertise in corrosion science and analytical methodologies.

Li Jiang

Li Jiang is a product line manager at TAQA looking after production enhancement fluids. He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry, and has been associated with oilfield industry for over 20 years working with technology services and specialty chemicals companies. He published about 90 peer-reviewed papers and owns over 120 patents involving the application of advanced (including nano- and bio-) materials for subsurface monitoring tools and treatment fluids. Recently he is responsible for the development of new acidizing, mineral scale management and water isolation products.

Ole is a Senior Account Manager for Baker Hughes, working within the Upstream Chemical department’s operations team in Norway. With 16 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, he supports a broad range of production chemical applications, with a particular focus on H₂S management and scale management. His industry background spans both onshore and offshore environments, where his offshore years included process monitoring, product implementation, and field optimization.

Ole has contributed to numerous short- and long-term initiatives, including field start ups and piloting new technology trials, strengthening his expertise in delivering practical, efficient, and innovative chemical solutions.

I am a PhD Researcher in the Flow Assurance and Scale Team (FAST) at the Institute of GeoEnergy Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, focusing on scale prediction and prevention during geothermal brine production.

I hold a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tabriz and an MSc from Tarbiat Modares University.

With over eight years of experience in the oil and energy sector, I have led multidisciplinary projects from design and technical supervision to commissioning and post-sales support. I am skilled in process simulation, equipment sizing, technical documentation, and preparing proposals, tenders, and client presentations.

I want to apply the chemical engineering knowledge I acquired during my studies by working in the oil and gas sector (both on offshore platforms, including those outside Europe, and in oil refineries). Managing Director and owner of PSL Systemtechnik GmbH for more than 27 years. In this time achieved high experience in measurement of paraffins, asphaltenes, gas hydrates, scale and further properties in oil and gas production.

The PSL Systemtechnik GmbH has 20 staff members and is a well-known specialist and leading company for measurement instruments and test plants for Flow Assurance testing.

He has been the Research and Development Manager at PS Analytical Ltd for 35 years working on the development of instrumentations and applications on mercury and hydride forming elements (As, Se, Sb). He has over 200 publications and has managed numerous research projects and mass balance studies for the mercury in the oil and gas industry. He is the UK technical expert and convenor for several working groups writing new and revising methods for ISO, CEN, and ASTM.

Rorys has a BSc in Forensic and Analytical Science BSc. He is currently working in the production maximisation team in Aberdeen as the SME for EVR lab testing, well modelling and product recommendations. I also have experiences working in the field in Europe and the Middle East as a demulsifier formulator.

Obinna holds a BSc. degree in Chemistry and an MSc. in Oil and Gas Engineering. He began his career in 2012 as a Development Chemist in Flow Assurance, where he was actively involved in product development, testing and evaluation whilst undertaking Production Chemistry and Flow Assurance projects. Obinna has also gained a lot of field experience, working in field (Onshore & Offshore) locations across multiple installations, supporting various chemical applications in oil and gas operations. Obinna currently works at Baker Hughes as a Senior Account Manager/Lead Operations Specialist. He is also a Chartered Chemist with the Royal Society of Chemistry".

He has extensive experience working across diverse rock types; from reservoir core to outcrop sandstone and sand pack, with strong capability in data interpretation, including differential pressure analysis, leak off behaviour, and cation monitoring. Cameron holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews.

Gregor is a postdoctoral research associate with the Flow Assurance and Scale Team (FAST) at Heriot-Watt University. Gregor has a PhD in chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, which focussed on using sustainable solid-state adsorbents for CO2 capture. His research with FAST is focused on understanding the chemistry of scale inhibitors in carbonate rock systems.

Originally a mechanical engineer, Rim realized that machines are cool, but uncovering energy treasures is even cooler.

Currently, as a production engineer she fine-tunes reservoirs and HPHT wells by combining technical expertise with data-driven plans.
