Call for abstract

The Seabed Mapping and Inspection Conference Committee are calling for abstracts for potential inclusion in the 2026 conference program.

As seabed mapping and inspection become increasingly vital across various industries, we welcome contributions from professionals in fields such as, but not limited to:

Renewable Energy, Carbon Capture and Storage, Oil and gas, Subsea mining, biological resources, State bodies and Academia.

Potential topics include: 

  1. Seabed Mapping
  2. Subsea Inspections
  3. Survey; environmental, construction, archaeological and positioning
  4. Autonomy and Uncrewed Solutions 
  5. Data Management– AI/Machine Learning
  6. Cyber Security
  7. Mining
    • Innovations
    • Standards

  10.Regulations

  1. Geodetics
  2. New and improved technology
  3. Other

 

Within these topics we are especially interested in abstracts focusing on: 

  1. Operator/Client experiences and learnings
  2. Specifications and standardisation
  3. Project and operational experiences
  4. TechnologyDeployment – experiences
  5. Onboarding of new technology /regulations - Experiences

Abstracts submitted not listed above are also welcome and will be reviewed and considered.

The abstract should include

- Max one page
- An introduction
- Define the content (project experience, Lab work, field- or case history)
- What is new (a method, upgraded proven technology or new technology
- Keep content technical and focused (commercial content is of no interest)
- Include a paragraph of conclusion - what will actually be presented
- Corresponding authors contact detail and name of co-authors

Abstract submission deadline is 15. September 2025

Author conditions
By submitting an abstract your work will be considered as a  presentation for the conference program 2026.

Speaker conditions:

A power point presentation is to be handed in 2 days prior to the conference.

· All presentations will be shared with the delegates as PDFs after the conference, a limited version to some extent is accepted.

· There is no requirments to submit a  paper.

· The presenter of the paper, one speaker,  will be granted a free delegate pass.

Accommodation and travel expenses will not be covered by the organizer if others are not discussed.
