Are you writing a thesis this semester and wonder what program to use? Maybe you would prefer writing your thesis in LaTeX?

In cooperation with the university library, Tekna UiS invites you to an introduction course in LaTeX. The course will be held by Linn Elise Gulliksen and gives a basic introduction in how to create a document including pictures, references, tables and what is relevant for a thesis. LaTeX is a extremly useful tool if you are writing a thesis that consist of mathematical formulas, equiations and symbols. The program has good solutions for content list, literature references and cross references, and is therefore well suited for largers tasks.

There will be workshops during the course, so remember to bring your own computer with LaTeX installed. If you wish to be extra prepred and be one step ahead of the other student, you can have a look here where you can find relevant materials related the course, such as the presentation, how to download LaTeX and solutions for the exercises.

It is recommended to create a account at https://www.overleaf.com/ as this will be the editor the lecture will be using.

Looking forward to see you there!
