Digital Twin in manufacturing

In a manufacturing context, a Digital Twin is a virtual representation of an observable Manufacturing Element. The Element and Twin states may be aligned on the fly, allowing the Digital Twin a key role in product life-cycle management.

How are technologies such as IoT, Big Data, AI and CAx, and standards like ISO 10303, used in the concept of a Digital Twin? What are the barriers and how do we overcome them? Learn more from:

  Oliver Barrowclough

  Research Scientist

  SINTEF Digital

  Oliver Barrowclough is a Research Scientist at the Geometry group in SINTEF Digital. He has a Ph.D. in the field of geometric modelling from University of Oslo. Today his focus is on combining novel AI techniques with geometric modelling. He is also leading a work package on Enabling Technologies for Digital Twin in the H2020 project Change2Twin.

  Heidi Elisabeth Iuell Dahl

  Senior Research Scientist

  Heidi Dahl is a Senior Research Scientist at SINTEF Digital. She leads the professional network Tekna Big Data. She has a PhD in mathematics and is researching mathematical modelling and data, focusing on Industry 4.0 and industrial use of big data analytics.

  Kjell Bengtsson

  Vice President

  Jotne AS

  Kjell Bengtsson is a Vice President at Jotne, has a Mechanical Engineering background and a diploma in Marketing. He started out at Volvo Car and General Electric doing CAD/DB applications and later management positions, and is now VP at Jotne EPM Technology. Kjell has been exposed to ISO 10303 (STEP) and other related standards for the last 25 years and is actively involved in neutral database implementation projects in the most complex defense and aerospace sector projects. Kjell is a Member of the Board of PDES, Inc and supports other industry organizations like AIA/ASD, NIAG (NATO), FSI and more.
