Crowdfunding: Core concepts, opportunities and challenges

Curious about crowdfunding? We take a dive into the concepts, opportunities and challenges with professor Rotem Shneor of the University of Agder.
Crowdfunding is an alternative channel for project fundraising which is constantly growing in scope and scale.
The talk will outline its core logic, value propositions, business models, and key trends in crowdfunding market developments.
Once the fundamentals are outlined, some practical advice will be provided for those who may consider pursuing it further.
The course wil take plase at the University of Agder in Kristiansand in room B1001. We will serve some pastry and coffe/tee. There will be a break half way through the course that will last from 18.00 til 20.00.
About the lecturer prof. Rotem Shneor
Prof. Shneor is a full professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Agder’s School of Business and Law in Norway and leads its Crowdfunding Research Center. He established the Nordic Crowdfunding Alliance, as well as co-founded and currently serves on the board of the Norwegian Crowdfunding Association. He is an affiliate researcher at the Cambridge University Center for Alternative Finance and co-author to its annual industry reports.
He has published in multiple academic journals and contributed chapters to edited volumes. He is also lead editor and author of a popular book on Advances in Crowdfunding Research and Practice. Finally, he is currently serving as chief editor of the Journal of Alternative Finance.
