Tekna Societal Security and Preparedness

Tekna Societal Security and Preparedness is a professional network for engineers and technologists working to strengthen society’s resilience, safety and prepareness.

The network focuses on the wide range of challenges posed by an increasingly complex threat landscape.

The network is open to Tekna members, and joining is free of charge and without any obligation.

Who is the network for?

The network is relevant for Tekna members who work with, or have an interest in:

  • Emergency preparedness, risk and societal security
  • Defence, total defence and civil–military cooperation
  • Critical infrastructure (energy, transport, ICT, water, health)
  • Digital security and resilience
  • Climate, natural hazards and climate adaptation
  • Planning, analysis, technology development and management

You may work in the public sector, private enterprise, research, the defence sector or in volunteer organisations – what matters most is your professional interest and engagement.

Tekna Societal Security and Preparedness is a meeting place for professionals working at the intersection of:

  • Civil and military preparedness
  • The public sector, private enterprise and civil society
  • Technology, infrastructure and societal development

The network builds on the recommendations of the Total Preparedness Commission and the priorities set out in the Long‑Term Defence Plan. It also supports Tekna’s strategy to be a clear and active voice in society.
