If you’ve completed a master's degree comprised of a minimum of 120 credits in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subject, you can submit a standard application.

If you’re a student and plan on completing a master's degree comprised of a minimum of 120 credits in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subject at the bachelor's/master's degree level, you can become a student member.

If you don’t meet the criteria for membership in Tekna, you might still be accepted as a member by special consideration.

As an employed regular member, your membership fee for 2026 is NOK 5,160, plus a local branch fee of between NOK 150 and 300.

• Students: NOK 300 per year
• Recent graduates: NOK 1,275 to 5,160, rising gradually over the first three years

Members who have lost their job and receive no pay from their employer can apply for a full exemption from the membership fee. For longer periods of unemployment, we may require documentation. A tax deduction of up to NOK 8,000 is available. Tekna reports the amount you have paid in membership fees each year to the tax authorities.
