The Aker BP board sets strategic direction based on company performance and management recommendations. Union representatives are uniquely placed to support balanced, well-informed decisions, and they discuss matters with management before they reach the board. This helps ensure the employees’ voice is heard.

Our three trade unions represent over 60% of all Aker BP employees.

Why employee representatives matter on the board

  • Employee representatives bring valuable insight into the everyday realities, interests, challenges and needs of the workforce.
  • At Aker BP, they are actively involved in discussions on key decisions that affect employees — this is our collaborative model.
  • They hold unique knowledge of the company’s operations and both current and future strategy.
  • This business insight is essential for a holistic understanding and the ability to influence decisions at multiple levels.
  • Employee representatives also share a strong personal commitment to contributing to the collective good, where personal interests are not the main focus.

Our candidates

  • They bring years of experience from Aker BP, with diverse roles both offshore and onshore.
  • With long careers behind them, they represent a wide range of the company’s operations — and as employee representatives, they are driven by a desire to contribute to the collective good.
  • Employee-elected board members work for the best interests of the company, while also safeguarding employees’ interests and jobs.
