Kristine Bonnevie

She was a zoologist and became Norway’s first female professor in 1912. It was forbidden for women to hold official positions, but the law was changed thanks to her advocates. Bonnevie’s work on heredity and genetics is particularly well-known. She was extremely dedicated to her scientific work and submitted her last article the night before she died. She was also enormously engaged in society and in student welfare.
