Badriya Saif Buraidi

Badriya holds a bachelor’s degree with a distinction grade in Control and Automation, then worked for more than 9 years in the oil and gas industry, as a senior production measurement specialist with wide experience in studying and evaluating new technologies. Leading the department in different metering aspects like creating and updating company standards and providing consultancy in metering and allocation matters. On the other hand, Badriya has experienced C&A engineering through different projects in FEED.

Bård Elvik

Graduated from the University of Stavanger in 2002 with a degree in Medical Technology and in 2020 completed a Master of Management from Bi Norwegian Business School. Have since 2003 worked with flow measurement and instrumentation technology used in laboratories, topside and subsea.

Kjetil Folgerø
NORCE
Kjetil holds a PhD in applied physics from the University of Bergen. He has been working with research and technology development at NORCE/CMR since 2009 focusing on flow measurement, electromagnetic sensor development, uncertainty analysis, and modelling/simulation. Before joining NORCE, he worked 12 years with development of microwave technology for telecommunication applications.

Jacob Freeke

Jacob has over 30 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas Process industries specializing in strategy, business development and marketing of ultrasonic flowmeters. Jacob began his career in ultrasonics with Panametrics. He started back in 1990 as a field service engineer and developed over the years into Global Product Management.
Jacob speaks 3 languages: Dutch, German and English. He has a degree from MTS Electronica Almelo. He is married with four children. Jacob is be based in Veenendaal, Netherlands.

Kjell-Eivind Frøysa

Kjell Eivind if the program chair of the workshop 2023 Kjell- Eivind is professor in measurement technology at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, Bergen, Norway and Special Adviser at NORCE. He joined Western Norway University of Applied Science in 2015. Before that, he worked 22 years at CMR (now merged into NORCE). His main interests are within flow metering, acoustics/ultrasonics and subsea measurements. He has participated in several project related to flow metering. Examples are development of ultrasonic flow meters, development of uncertainty models for custody transfer metering stations, methodology for CO2 reporting from flaring and evaluation of flow metering set-up at specific metering stations.

Douglas Griffin

Douglas graduated from University of Strathclyde in 1987. Petroleum Measurement Inspector with UK upstream oil & gas regulator 1993-99. Since 1999, responsible for the development of policy on fiscal measurement for the UK upstream oil & gas industry. Currently involved in developing regulatory policy on measurement of GHG emissions.

Vegar Hansen
Equinor
Vegar has a master of science in Electronics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology from 2008. After studying Vegar started in the petroleum business working with metering from the start. In 2012 Vegar joined Statoil/Equinor and have worked with operations and projects regarding the whole portfolio of fiscal metering, multiphase metering and field allocation since then, since 2022 he has been leading advisor in Equinor.

Muhammad Karimi

Muhammad Akram Karimi (PhD) – received his MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia in 2015 and 2019 respectively. He completed his BS degree in electrical engineering from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Pakistan in 2013. His research work has won best paper award in IEEE IMS 2016, best thesis award (3MT) in IEEE IMS 2019 and IEEE Sensors Council Technical Achievement Award (Early Career) in 2020. His research was shortlisted as finalist for the “ ADIPEC Breakthrough Research of the year award” twice. He is an author of 35 articles including 22 international journal and conference papers and 13 patents. His invention on “printed multiphase meter” has been awarded King prize (Takreem), on behalf of the King of Saudi Arabia. He is currently leading a start-up company as its CTO and his research interests include multiphase flow metering, water cut sensing and IoT enabled distributed sensing for industrial applications.

Fábio Costa

Fabio has an engineering background with a master's degree in instrumentation. I have been working at the Brazilian National Institute of Metrology (INMETRO) for over 10 years. Additionally, I gained valuable experience as a guest researcher at the Fluid Metrology Group at NIST. Currently, I hold the position of Deputy Head of the Fluid Dynamics Metrology Division and manage research projects focused on fluid flow measurement, particularly in the oil and gas industry. I am also involved in international cooperation projects in areas of renewable energy

Dennis van Putten

Dennis works for DNV as a principal expert in (multiphase/wet gas) flow metering. He holds a PhD in fluid dynamics and is mostly involved in R&D projects for metering and focuses on the fundamental physics of (multiphase) flows and flow meter performance testing.

I graduated as a mechatronics engineer from the University of São Paulo, obtained my Master's degree in aeronautical engineering from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology, and worked as a product development engineer for the E-jets E2 commercial aircraft at Embraer. I also earned a USPTO patent for an aircraft environmental control system.

Eike has been working in different positions in Sales and Sales Management in FLEXIM in the last 10 years. He supports as Head of Market Management Oil&Gas both the Sales and Product Management team for the wide range of Flow Measurement in this field since beginning of 2023. Christine Sjulstad

With eight years of experience within the data engineering field and having spent two years focusing on intelligent allocation methods alongside petroleum industry partners, Christine leads the development of Solution Seeker’s industry-tested and sophisticated solution for smart allocation, FlowFusion.

Astrid Marie Skålvik

Astrid Marie is a Senior Scientist within measurement science at NORCE. She has more than 10 years’ experience within uncertainty analysis of fiscal flow metering stations and allocation systems. She holds a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Bergen, Norway, and Université Paul Sabatier, France and is currently working on a PhD in Measurement Science at University of Bergen.

Etienne Smith

After graduating with an engineering degree from Lasalle Beauvais Institute and a MBA from Paris school of management, Etienne has been working for the international business development of gas analyser manufacturers since 2012. He joined AP2E in 2016, to manage the European networks of AP2E sales partners. After the acquisition of AP2E by the German group DURAG, Etienne became Sales & Service director of the company in 2020. AP2E is a French manufacturer of gas analysers based on OFCEAS and Low Pressure Sampling technologies, with analytical solutions for continuous emission monitoring, process optimization, and ambient air monitoring.

Philip Stockton

Phil is currently Director and Head Consultant at Accord Energy Solutions which I co-founded in 2010. Phil graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and worked as a process engineer for over 30 years but have more recently specialised in allocation engineering with an emphasis on simulation and use of mathematical techniques. Phil has previously presented papers on subjects associated with measurement and allocation, including: process simulation, uncertainty, game theory, application of estimation techniques, uncertainty based allocation, measurement error detection and data reconciliation to reduce meter uncertainty.

Mark van der Zande

Mark works for KROHNE as Global Industry Manager for the Energy industry. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering and has over 20 years of experience in high tech industry ranging from electron microscopy and medical imaging to multiphase flowmeters. In his current role Mark focuses on the energy transition, ensuring that the KROHNE portfolio fits the market needs for ‘new’ fluids such as hydrogen and carbon dioxide.

Steinar Vervik

Steinar has PhD from the University of Bergen, Department of Physics and Technology. I have been employed in the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) since 2003. Steinar works mainly with NPD's supervisory activities and to further development of NPD's regulations within fiscal measurement of oil and gas.

Cheng-Gang Xie

Cheng-Gang is a Scientific Advisor at SLB (formerly Schlumberger) and has about 30-year research and new product development experiences in various multiphase flow measurement technologies for topside and subsea applications, at SLB Cambridge Research (UK) and Singapore Well Testing Centre. Cheng-Gang obtained PhD degree in 1988 from The University of Manchester and has been a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering & Technology since 2011. He is a (co)inventor of over 40 patent families.

Abdullah Al Zakwani

Abdullah Al Zakwani is an experienced academic and industrial expert in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He specializes in Intelligent Agent, a core branch of re-enforced and unsupervised learning techniques.
He is currently the Executive Director for Research and Innovation for Lamad LLC and Senior Researcher for Taqat LLC, and a visiting lecturer to various universities. Holding a PhD in AI and GIS and has taught as a Senior Lecturer in various Universities in the United Kingdom with long appointment to University of East London as a Head of BSc and MSc Programs and units including Software development, Cyber Security, Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.
Abdullah Al Zakwani has a strong background in Mathematics with a focus on Predictive and Statistical models. He has published various high scientific papers which resulted onto consultation to large organizations and his work has been used by NASA, Google, Apple to name a few.

He also is working to develop new metering concepts and solutions. Eirik holds PhD in Physics (Industrial Instrumentation) from University of Bergen.
