Tekna is following the guidelines on travel and events issued by local authorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. We will be making our contribution to reducing the spread, scope and consequences of the coronavirus in Norway. We all have a responsibility to minimise the burden on the health services.
The authorities have issued new and stricter rules governing events.
This means that we will have to cancel or postpone events or hold them with the help of streaming solutions and digital learning platforms. If you have signed up for a Tekna event, course or conference you will receive information by text message or e-mail over the course of the next few days.
Provisional guidelines on events:
Courses and conferences
We will have to either cancel or postpone our Spring courses and conferences until the Autumn and will revert with more information and new dates as soon as we can.
All events for students are cancelled or postponed. Crash courses and other courses for students of a technical nature will wherever possible be streamed.
Local chapter events
These will be cancelled until the situation has become clearer.
Some annual meetings have already been cancelled. Many can be held on Teams/Skype and that would be our recommendation. It is important that the meeting has a quorum and that arrangements are put in place to enable voting to take place.
Membership meetings and collective bargaining conferences
These will be held with the aid of streaming, where possible.
