3rd international conference on Small Scale LNG

Technical Tour to the Nordic LNG Plant - 10 June

What will become Europe's second largest LNG plant is now being constructed in the Stavanger area in Norway. It will have an annual capacity of around 300 000 tons (415 million cubic meters). The LNG plant will be a key component in the Small Scale LNG supply chain managed by the newly established joint venture Nordic LNG.

The joint venture's main owners are the shipping company I.M.Skaugen and Lyse. As.who is the leading utility company in the Stavanger region. Lyse will manage the LNG plant, and I.M. Skaugen will provide the marine transport capability. Nordic LNG will then market, sell and deliver the LNG to end customers.

Nordic LNG's strategy is to focus on large industrial users in Scandinavia and the Baltic region, thus providing gas to otherwise "stranded" customers who do not have access to natural gas.

The production plant will be operational in 2010 and it will be possible to visit the site on 10 June as a pre-conference tour for the delegates of the conference.

After visiting the site we will enjoy a sight seeing tour on the Lyse Fjord including beverages and wine.
